One of the world’s largest IT organization and ranked within the top Fortune 500 companies – our client has a global presence and works with the big players in the industry. They are currently in the midst of expanding their professional centre of excellence in Malaysia, hence hiring a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager to kick start their FP&A APAC COE set up.

About the job

This position will oversee the FP&A function for the APAC countries, involved in setting up a full scope FP&A functions. You will lead the FP&A processes and ensure teams deliver timely in accordance with corporate accounting policies. You will report into the Head of FP&A for APAC in their regional office.

  • Setup centralised COE for FP&A functions for APAC countries
  • Design and implement centralized processes based on the current business unit structure and requirements.
  • Develop, analyze and interpret statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and operating effectiveness across the region and teams
  • Play a key role in change management to increase adoption and efficiency of COE
  • Direct support and coaching to in-country teams as they help FP&A members through transitions
  • Design and implementation of FP&A-related tools to improve efficiency and ensure alignment with business needs
  • Maintain and harmonize the FP&A reporting across APAC (including forecasting, business unit performance, P&L
  • reporting, working capital analysis, and relevant dashboards for decision making, etc.)
  • Involved in digital transformation for FP&A to streamline, automate and centralize processes to better serve internal and external customers
  • Hire, coach & mentor and empower staff with the goal of skills development and retention.
  • Alignment with key stakeholders and APAC Finance leadership.

Skills and experience required

The aspiring candidate should possess:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance or any relevant qualifications.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience, within FP&A function in a regional APAC scope.
  • Shared Services experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Experience in setting up/transforming FP&A related shared services will be an added advantage.
  • Solid working experience in SAP is required.
  • Strong organizational, communication and collaboration skills to manage multiple stakeholders for value & strategic prioritization
  • Ability to simplify and reduce issues to their fundamental causes
  • Ability to determine clear decision rights and escalation processes & requires experience managing highly dynamic situations.
